Last Thursday, after my proposal presentation, I went home early in order to get some more sleep (after a late sleep the night before, hehe).
But, at my room, what did I do?? Well, instead of going to sleep –> I just spent my time in front of the monitor, and found something interesting to explore.
What was that? About touring inside the Googleplex and also Yahoo Headquarter.
Hmm,, I was so excited to follow the ‘virtual tour’ by looking at the photos and videos, and I wished I was there, look at the place with my own eyes, oooow,,,that will be soo great.
Well, both of them, Google and Yahoo, have a very good, nice, and beautiful headquarters. But, Google has a larger one than Yahoo’s. That’s why they named if Googleplex, means Google complex. It was a very large area, consist of many building inside.
While Yahoo’s is smaller than Google’s, but Yahoo headquarter is a nice one too. Both of them have sport facilities such as for playing volleyball, or basketball. Google has a mini swimming pool too.
They have beautiful gardens, and some great party at the garden 
.Both of them also has a great place to eat. But at Google, the Googlers (it’s a call for people working @ Google) get 3 times high-quality meals a day, and Google has some great chefs (I can tell by the look of the meals, hehe).
Yahoo actually also has something free. It was drink that always free @ Yahoo. Yahoo has a beautiful coffee shop with a lot of yummy choices, and we can order it for free,,hmmm. Oh, and also Yahoo has a small shop inside its office, and visitors can buy many kinds of Yahoo’s souvenirs (these one are not free unfortunately).
Well, after all, I enjoyed very much my ‘personal tour’ to Google and Yahoo.
Do I deserve to have a wish to work there and enjoy all the facilities there?? hmmm

Berawal dari tugas salah satu mata kuliah yang saya ambil semester ini, yaitu Keriwausahaan dan Pengembangan Bisnis, kami ditugaskan untuk memikirkan sebuah ide bisnis untuk kemudian diteruskan dalam sebuah business plan.
Berhubung kami sekelas mayoritas adalah mahasiswa jurusan Teknik Informatika, maka sang dosen pun menyarankan untuk memikirkan ide bisnis dalam bidang IT (Information Technology)
Akhir2 menjelang pengumpulan ide bisnis, orang2 sudah mulai ribut2 memikirkan akan mengajukan ide bisnis apa.
Lalu, saya dan beberapa rekan mulai membicarakan beberapa bisnis IT yang terbilang sukses di level dunia, yaitu Google.
Sebenarnya pada intinya kami heran sekaligus ‘amaze’ dengan Google yang bisa dibilang hanya berbekal hosting halaman web, dan algoritma serta teknik2 indexing dokumen berupa halaman web, dan kini Google menjelma menjadi sebuah raksasa bisnis dalam bidang IT (tidak didukung data2 yang valid, ini kan hanya asumsi saya dan rekan2 saja, hehe).
Seorang rekan berpendapat bahwa mungkin dulu awalnya Google merugi dulu dalam memasarkan search engine nya, lalu setelah promosi ke sana kemari dan orang2 semakin butuh Google dan Google jadi terkenal, maka baru lah mulai mereka menerapkan iklan-beriklan (Google Ads) di search engine nya. jadi, kesimpulan salah satu rekan saya ini adalah bahwa Google mendapatkan uang dari iklan saja. Menurut dia, iklan saja amount nya sudah besar.
Tapi, kok saya masih penasaran dan tidak percaya, apa benar si Google ini hanya dapat uang dari iklan saja. Akhirnya saya mencari2 di Google (hehe, bahkan untuk mencari tahu tentang Google, saya menggunakan Google )
Akhirnya, hasil dari pencarian saya di internet (how wonderful internet is ), ternyata, saya dapat jawabannya:

Yak, dan ternyata temen saya bener. Bahwa Google mendapatkan uang yang segepok2 itu dari iklan. Tapi, most of all bukan dari Google ad sense yang biasanya ada di blog orang2.
Jadi, Google mendapatkan uang dari ‘targetted advertising’.
Periklanan yang bertarget (terjemahan bebasnya).
Jadi, google akan menjual “link urutan teratas” di bagian “Sponsored Link” yang biasanya ada di bagian samping kanan, bagi perusahaan2 yang punya kepentingan.
Misalnya, untuk keyword “Jamur Goreng Crispy”, si perusahaan A yang memang memproduksi jamur goreng, ingin link perusahaannya muncul paling atas di hasil pencarian Google. Nah, supaya bisa mendapat tempat ‘atas’ di hasil pencarian Google, perusahaan A harus membayar sejumlah uang ke Google.
Kalau tiba2 ada perusahaan B yang juga ingin menguasai si keyword “Jamur Goreng Crispy” tadi, maka Google akan mengadakan lelang untuk perusahaan A dan perusahaan B.
Siapa yang mampu membayar paling tinggi, akan memenangkan tempat “teratas” di bagian “Sponsored Link” tadi. Dan kabar2nya, ukuran lelang ini adalah satuan uang yang dibayar ke Google setiap kali ada user yang klik di link iklan tadi.
Kata2nya juga, harga setiap klik itu cuman 0.50 cents saja,, dan katanya juga, hanya butuh 1 dari 15 users Google yang nge-klik iklan itu cukup untuk membuat Google untung.
Ck,,ck,,ck,,sesimple itu, tapi duitnya besar sekaliiiii. Itu juga karena kepopuleran Google sebagai search engine handal, dan orang2 sudah makin bergantung ke Google dalam hal cari-mencari informasi (termasuk saya juga )
Memang benar, sekarang kita sudah masuk ke era baru di mana dari internet pun kita sudah bisa berbisnis.

tadi siang saya baru nyadar kalo ternyata sampe sekarang, saya punya banyak banget username-password yang sudah saya buat untuk bisa login di berbagai site. Dan siang ini pun, saya bikin login baru untuk bisa download2 video di site sharing videonya ITB.
Awalnya sih, saya sempet sebel, kenapa untuk bisa mendownload video saja, saya harus sign up dulu dan mendaftarkan sebuah username dan password untuk login. Makin nambah2in aja list login saya. Setelah dipikir2, sebenernya banyak aplikasi web di kampus yang selalu mensyaratkan user untuk login supaya bisa mengakses sesuatu atau mendownload sesuatu. Grrrrrrrrrrr,,,lama2 kan males juga, mau ngapa2in harus login, susah deh.
Di kampus saja, saya sudah punya login untuk akses home di server Bromo IF (dimana ini loginnya sama dengan si milis horde itu), lalu Akun Jaringan ITB (so-called AI3) untuk masuk ke mail students, my itb, akses internet dengan proxy AI3, penggunaan VPN ITB. Selanjutnya masih ada login ke Kolaborasinya Comlabs, login ke sistem informasinya Comlabs, login (punya temen) untuk masuk rileks, login untuk bisa download freeware di salah satu webnya unit-di-komleb (lah mau bagi2 freeware aja kok musti login ya? ck ck ck,,ga penting lah itu loginnya), login untuk masuk ke video.itb.ac.id. Hmm,,masih ada yang ketinggalan ngga ya?? Itu aja udah lumayan banyak.
Belum lagi di luar lingkungan kampus, saya ada login untuk masuk ke Yahoo (include mail, YM,flickr dll), login ke Google (include mail, GTalk, YouTube, dll), login ke blogsome, login ke wordpress, login ke haloscan, login ke tumblr, login ke photobucket, login ke blogspot, login ke site-saya-lupa-namanya untuk download white paper keperluan tugas, dan saya udah ngga inget login2 lain yang mungkin saya bikin secara spontan karena ada perlunya.
Untungnya sih, untuk masuk ke laptop saya, ngga saya kasih password, hoho. Tapi, ada lagi sih serangkaian nomor2 yang harus diingat sebagai PIN ATM, dan PIN dari kartu Matrix saya T__T
Heeeeey,,,ternyata sudah banyak login yang saya bikiiin,, dan ternyata ngga semua login itu saya menggunakan username dan password yang sama. Ck ck ck, ternyata sudah ada sedikit bagian otak saya yang dipakai untuk menghafalkan login2 ituuu. Dasaar, kenapa sih ada situs2 pelit, yang hanya mau membagikan konten2nya untuk user2 yang mau login?? Apa situs2 itu tak tau kalo salah satu usernya bernama upik udah cape sama urusan bikin membikin username dan password,,grrrrrrr
Untuk yang Akun Jaringan ITB, itu udah mending sih, karena satu login dipakai untuk bisa akses beberapa fasilitas jaringan di ITB. Tapiii,,AJI kan ngga bisa dipake untuk masuk rileks, masuk ke video ITB, masuk ke kolaborasi nya comlabs, dan masuk ke sisfo nya UP Comlabs.. Jadi deh, bikin username lagi untuk keperluan2 di atas. Untuk yang kolaborasi dan sisfo di Comlabs, kenapa sih ngga dijadiin satu aja?
Kalo jadi single window gitu, kan saya jadi hanya harus menghafal 2 login untuk ke jaringan ITB dan untuk ke server IF, hoho…
Untuk yang di luar kampus, saya berharap aja deh, Yahoo sama Google mau membeli perusahaan2 laen, misalnya dengan Google mengakuisisi Youtube kan berakibat saya bisa login Youtube dengan akun Google, Google mengakuisisi Blogger, saya jadi bisa masuk ke Blogger dengan akun Google.
Jadi, nantinya kalo semuaaaa site2 itu dibeli sama Yahoo atau Google, saya kan ngga perlu bikin2 username dan password lagiii..
Seru juga tuh kalo ada Internet Single Window..hoho
Pemerintah aja udah pengen bikin National Single Window, mustinya di ITB juga semuanya cukup pake AJI, dan untuk website2 luaran, cukup pake akun Yahoo atau Google, hahahaha

As a medium-brained student from informatics engineering major, on my last year FINALLY I can do a-little-help for my friends doing her assignment and teach her a little about basic in programming -> though this is not my favourite subject ^_^
So, after 4 years I spend on college, what did I do that I haven’t make a positive thing for others, hehe,, especially with the title informatics-student??
That’s okay, at least, I still hope that the knowledge I shared to other people is a merit
Yep yep, and for my second post, I ‘only’ post something ‘light’ hehe. Well, kinda simple tips for programming in Pascal.
Actually, it’s been a very very long time since I use Pascal (about 3 years, as I remember). Well, it’s like that I prefer using Java
This afternoon, a friend of mine called me, and she asked me to teach her about simple Pascal programming all of sudden. Gosh, I really want to help her, but the thing is that I don’t really remember Pascal. And finally, I end up re-reading the Pascal book, looking for the compiler, and starting to code Pascal all over again, hehe. (Actuallty, it’s only for her assignment).
And in the middle of my-learning, I just thought about making a dynamic arrays in Pascal. We all know, that in Pascal, we must declare, which part is TYPE, which part is VAR, which part is BEGIN-END. The problem is, I want to declare an array, which size is determined by the user.
At first, I think about the VAR -part and the BEGIN-END-part, and I didn’t know, where should I put the declaration, where should I put the initialization. Wew,,confuse confuse confuse until I found a page here, http://www.freepascal.org/docs-html/ref/refsu14.html
Haha,,,everything is clear now. I found a solution to my simple problem. Here it is:

So, the solution is, make an Array type (on the TYPE-part), just declare the type of the array, is it array of integer, array of string, or array of a specific record, without the length.
Then, make an instance of the array on the VAR-part, for example, I made ArrayOfPoint as an instace of type TPoint.
And finally, one method-the key method, is SetLength (<the array>, <the lenght>). Use it to set the actual length of the array
